I had been telling people that if they didn&#8217;t feel ready to undertake a major project like giving away 1 thing a day, they might at least try to prune a drawer. I figured I&#8217;d better try it myself.\u00a0Things don&#8217;t look very different on the outside because drawers are usually closed and hide stuff. The rules I set for myself<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/?p=3073\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">OUR BEDROOM<\/span><\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Easiest and hardest things to let go of<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/?p=3088\"><strong>OUR BEDROOM AGAIN<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0&#8211; I discovered the need for new rules<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/?p=3106\">GUEST BEDROOMS #2 &amp; #3<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Grown kids bedrooms are easier because there&#8217;s not much left.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/?p=3123\">UPSTAIRS BATHROOM<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Lots of health questions here, like how long a shelf life different medications have<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/?p=3148\">KITCHEN<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; New rules; paper towels vs. rags; and the virtue of procrastination<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/?p=3169\">KITCHEN AGAIN<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; Don&#8217;t give advice without testing it<a href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Days-365+69k-ADAD-Recycle-Throw-Away.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-3222\" src=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Days-365+69k-ADAD-Recycle-Throw-Away-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Days 365+69k ADAD Recycle Throw Away\" width=\"134\" height=\"134\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/?p=3193\">DINING ROOM<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; We need to host more dinner parties<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/?p=3193\">LIVING ROOM &amp; HALL<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; You gotta stop somewhere<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/?p=3214\">SUMMARY<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; 10 Things I learned by cleaning out A-Drawer-A-Day<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>5 years later for Lent 2019 I decided to go through the house again but this time not limit myself to drawers.<br \/>\n1. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/365-186-room-by-room-plan\/\"><strong>ROOM by ROOM PLAN<\/strong><\/a><\/span><br \/>\n2. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/365-187-r-by-r-2-bedrooms\/\">R by R: BEDROOMS 1 &amp; 2<\/a><\/strong><\/span> &#8211; Mostly clothes + shoes in the master bedroom, followed by left over kids stuff in bedroom 2<br \/>\n3. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/365188-r-by-r-bedrooms-12-bath\/\">R by R: BEDROOMS 3 &amp; 4 + BATH<\/a><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> &#8211; Clearing out more kid&#8217;s memorabilia, adult storage boxes of taxes, and out of date medicines.<\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/365189-r-by-r-living-roomhalls\/\"><strong>R by R: LIVING ROOM + 2 HALLS<\/strong><\/a><\/span> &#8211; Whether to pitch older technology and getting permission from adult children to pitch their stuff<br \/>\n5. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/365190-r-by-r-kitchen-pantry\/\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">R by R: KITCHEN + 2 PANTRIES<\/span><\/strong><\/a> &#8211; It takes a long time to organize a kitchen and the 20\/20 rule.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/365191-r-by-r-dining-rm-2-closets\/\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">R by R: DINING ROOM + CLOSETS<\/span><\/strong><\/a> &#8211;\u00a0 How much in a Dining Room isn&#8217;t about food. Closets can be a black hole of outgrown stuff.<br \/>\n7. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/365191-r-by-r-10-lenten-lessons\/\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">R by R: 10 LENTEN LESSONS<\/span><\/strong><\/a> &#8211; Why bother? How much time did it take? How many extras to keep?
