This was like picking a favorite child but in my ongoing effort to save you all reading time, I forced myself to whittle my original 18 down to 12. Click on the links to get the full story.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/365138-online-shopping-boxes\/\">1. First world debates:<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0It\u2019s sobering to remember that some people don\u2019t have the money to pay for necessities, much less gifts, whether online or local. Some of our neighbors on planet earth are hungry, living in dangerous places, fleeing war zones, living with addictions or family violence. What a luxury it is to debate the best way to spend and save our discretionary money.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/365139-its-not-virtue-just-timely\/\"><strong><br \/>\n2. Don\u2019t complicate giving<\/strong><\/a><\/span> stuff away. Sometimes figuring out the best place to take stuff can be a hassle. Relax, just keep giving. Trying to be too pure about the details can tie up energy. In these troubled times free your energy for the truly major political issues like caring for the poor, healing relationships, and protecting the environment.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/365141-going-beyond-my-bubble\/\">3. Going Beyond my bubble<\/a><\/span>:<\/strong> Perhaps the most life-giving action I can take is to enter into the world of people who think differently from me on political issues. Learn to love those who voted differently from oneself by understanding them better.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/365142-procrastination-redeemed\/\">4. Lessons learned from pruning paper<\/a><\/span>: \u00a0<\/strong>plus<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/365145-updating-my-life-2\/\">\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Strategies<\/span><\/a>:<br \/>\n<\/strong>a. One thing leads to another.<br \/>\nb. Uncovering history can be a sacred experience in seeing the categories of our lives evolve.<br \/>\nc. Most everything takes longer than anticipated.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/365143-political-conversations\/\">5. Media Literacy<\/a>:<\/strong><\/span> It\u2019s going to be impossible to make good political decisions if we can\u2019t even agree on what the facts are. A population that can be swayed by propaganda and biased news is being hacked even if the voting machines aren\u2019t. Our minds are being played with. I think one of the most important steps to building a healthy democracy is to recognize false advertising.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/365147-letting-go-of-health\/\">6. Letting go of health<\/a><\/span>:<\/strong> I don\u2019t wish bad health or an accident on anyone \u2013 But wait! Maybe I do. Some lessons can only be learned the hard way. My broken arm has slowed me down, but has taught me a lot<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/365148-letting-go-of-anger\/\"><strong>7. Letting go of Anger<\/strong><\/a><\/span>: Let go of the anger against the person. Keep the outrage with evil.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/365149-letting-go-of-mistakes\/\">8. Letting Go of Mistakes<\/a><\/span>:<\/strong> We can\u2019t go back and undo the past \u2013 we only learn from it to do better in the future. Mistakes are the tools of learning.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/365152-letting-go-of-being-right\/\">9. Letting Go of Being Right<\/a><\/span>:<\/strong> Check for the flaws in my own position. Check for the truth in my adversary\u2019s position.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/365153-plastics-dos-donts\/\">10. Plastic Do\u2019s &amp; Don\u2019ts<\/a><\/span>: <\/strong>DO NOT put plastic bags in curbside recycling. Make a place.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/365154-letting-go-of-worry\/\">11. Letting Go of Worry<\/a><\/span>:<\/strong> Differentiate between productive worry and unproductive worry.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/365158-wasting-time-saving-time\/\">12.
