See <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/365175-purging-for-a-cause\/\">Purging for a Cause #1<\/a><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0It was an easy and painless way to clear extra filler paper, markers, glue, and folders from our home. Tomorrow I\u2019m going to a <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/about.civicdinners.com\/theracialdivide\/\">Civic Dinner<\/a><\/span> at a local church and in addition to stimulating conversation, the <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.foodforthejourneyproject.org\/\"><em>Food for the Journey<\/em> website<\/a><\/span> mentioned that they could use plastic silverware, napkins, foam plates and cups for the weekly meals they host for the neighbors in this low income area. We\u2019ve avoided buying anything styrofoam for awhile for environmental reasons, but we still had quite a few of the other items stored for \u2013 I don\u2019t know what\u00a0 &#8211; since we try to use washable silverware and plates. I found:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Days-365183-napkins-plastic-silverware.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-5872\" src=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Days-365183-napkins-plastic-silverware.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"304\" height=\"232\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Days-365183-napkins-plastic-silverware.jpg 921w, https:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Days-365183-napkins-plastic-silverware-300x229.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Days-365183-napkins-plastic-silverware-768x585.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 304px) 100vw, 304px\" \/><\/a>275 paper napkins (We now use cloth napkins that can be washed.)<\/li>\n<li>250 plastic knives, forks, and spoons<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The website also said that they could use coloring books and crayons to amuse the children during their weekly soup kitchen meals. So I\u2019m taking<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 coloring books<\/li>\n<li>Half of our stash of crayons (Gotta save some for the grand kids <strong>\ud83d\ude42<\/strong> )<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The moral of the story is:<\/strong> Watch for opportunities where others will provide you with a way to declutter.<\/p>\n<p>I was short of time and didn\u2019t want to figure out where to take these items, By just keeping my eyes and ears alert, others provide the occasion for decluttering and I feel lighter.
