Really? I love dogs but this seems over the top.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Toothpaste boxes<\/strong> that show a huge swirl of toothpaste overflowing the brush. Since I use an electric toothbrush with a tiny head, only a dab will do it. I presume it\u2019s meant as a subliminal message to kids to put a big hunk of toothpaste on their brush so the parent has to buy toothpaste more often.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fake news political ads<\/strong>. \u201cFake news\u201d is in the eye of the beholder, but with each campaign season I see ads that portray a candidate or cause with misleading innuendos.<\/li>\n<li>How does one know which news source to trust?<a href=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Days-112-Extra-Question-mark.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3585 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Days-112-Extra-Question-mark.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"63\" height=\"88\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As I reflected on these examples, I realized that I had slipped into judgmentalism based on my own biases. So I tried arguing the other side:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Dog treats<\/strong> \u2013 Hey, it\u2019s just a treat. Don\u2019t I treat myself with ice-cream, candy bars, etc. Just be mindful that it\u2019s a choice. Buying stuff won\u2019t bring lasting happiness, love, and satisfaction. Those are inside jobs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Toothpaste<\/strong> \u2013 Should I fault companies for trying to sell more of their product? After all, I have free will and don\u2019t have to use that much.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fake news<\/strong> \u2013 I can educate myself about news sources. I don\u2019t have to be a blind consumer.
