It was exciting and mutually enlightening. At the end of their stay, however, there were a number of duplicate personal care items that they didn&#8217;t have room for in their luggage such as feminine hygiene products, slippers, toiletries (soaps, shampoo, make-up,) underwear, body scrubbies, extra T-shirts, etc. I gathered these and took them to<\/span> <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/marymagdalenhouse.org\/\">Mary Magdalene House<\/a><\/em><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em> &#8211; <\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">a local facility that provides showers, laundry, and supplies to homeless people in the Cincinnati area.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><u><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Days-365289-bed-mattresses-cropped.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-9144\" src=\"https:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Days-365289-bed-mattresses-cropped-151x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"140\" height=\"278\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Days-365289-bed-mattresses-cropped-151x300.jpg 151w, https:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Days-365289-bed-mattresses-cropped.jpg 380w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 140px) 100vw, 140px\" \/><\/a><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Days-365289-bed-frames.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-9139\" src=\"https:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Days-365289-bed-frames-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"174\" height=\"130\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Days-365289-bed-frames-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Days-365289-bed-frames-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.susanvogt.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Days-365289-bed-frames.jpg 1009w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 174px) 100vw, 174px\" \/><\/a><\/u><strong>Twin Beds <\/strong>\u2013 When our children were young we had a set of bunk beds for our two younger sons. As they grew older we morphed these into separate twin beds. This also worked well for hosting visitors after all our kids were sprung. However, times have changed and one of our grown children gifted us with a new Queen size bed to replace the twin beds. (Perhaps she felt this would also make her life more pleasant when she visited.&#x1f60a;) Anyway, the result was that we put the twin beds on<\/span> <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wikihow.com\/Give-Stuff-Away-on-Craigslist\">Craig\u2019s List<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (<a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wikihow.com\/Give-Stuff-Away-on-Craigslist\">https:\/\/www.wikihow.com\/Give-Stuff-Away-on-Craigslist)<\/a><\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">for free and were happy to pass them on to a local family in need who answered our ad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">These were not sacrificial donations for us since letting go of each of the above items simplified our life of stuff that was just taking up unnecessary space. It felt good to find new homes for things we no longer needed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There are 2 categories of stuff, however, that are more difficult to part with:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">* <u>Sentimental items<\/u> \u2013 my wedding dress and other specialized clothing, remembrances of special occasions, old school yearbooks, photo albums from before digitalizing was invented\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">* <u>Stuff our kids are still storing at our house<\/u> because, \u201cHey, we might want those old school projects, childhood memorabilia, coin collections, etc. and you have the room to store them and we don\u2019t.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I leave these latter items for a future blog post. BUT&#8230; here are a couple questions for you now:<br \/>\n1. What stuff might still be hanging around your home that you no longer need?<br \/>\n2.
